Raised in the French countryside, Élise was captivated by the forms of nature from an early age. She collected stones polished smooth by the stream and observed the contours of dried branches. Her artistic journey was not without its twists and turns; for a time, she found herself lost amidst the intricate details of representational painting. A long solitary walk along a desolate beach in Normandy changed everything. Amidst the stark simplicity of sand, water, and sky, she realized that the most complex emotions could be conveyed through the simplest blocks of color and lines. She began to distill the textures and shapes of nature into a fundamental visual language—allowing the canvas to breathe and inviting the viewer to discover a sense of serenity.
