“Pixels lie. Cracked paint and creased paper tell the truth.”
Aufgewachsen im Wattenmeer der Bretagne, sammelte Aélia als Kind Muscheln, Algen und tote Fische und skizzierte "Archive des Meeresmülls". Sie sagt: "Meine Liebe zum Leben begann mit seinem Zerfall und Wiederzusammenbau."

Nach einer doppelten Ausbildung in Kunst und Biologie zog sie die Malerei der Laborarbeit vor und verwandelte ihre Leinwand in ein hybrides Labor. Sie scannt mikroskopische Bilder, anatomische Tafeln und antike botanische Illustrationen ein, übermalt sie, setzt sie neu zusammen und stellt sie neu dar.

Ihre Serie Nexus (IDs 6-9) begann während der Abriegelung im Jahr 2020: Während die Welt auf Viren und Isolation fixiert war, malte sie die Fäden zwischen den Dingen:
  • Weiße Schlange, die sich um Calla-Lilien windet → Sehnsucht und Begehren und Läuterung verschlungen;
  • Auster, die Neuronen wiegt → Erinnerung Erinnerung verkalkt, geschützt;
  • Lupe, die einen Schädel enthüllt Beobachtung als Eingriff;
  • Beagle neben Hummer → Hinterfragen menschlicher Hierarchien des Lebens.
