Astrid war Digitaldesignerin in Stockholm und hatte täglich mit kalten Pixeln zu tun. Während eines langen Winters verspürte sie eine tiefe digitale Müdigkeit und sehnte sich danach, die Realität mit ihren Fingerspitzen zu berühren. Sie begann in ihrem Atelier mit Ton und Gips zu experimentieren und versuchte, die weichen Erdtexturen und abgerundeten Geometrien ihrer Träume nachzubilden. Ihr erstes Werk, ein einfacher Terrakottakreis, heilte nicht nur sie, sondern fand auch in den sozialen Medien großen Anklang. Heute kombiniert sie moderne Geometrie mit handwerklichem Geschick und schafft "Räume der Heilung", die das Zuhause mit Wärme erfüllen.

Mateo de la Sombra utilizes heavy impasto and palette knife techniques to create "architectural" layers that challenge the boundary between painting and shadow-play.
